The IT Value Challenge

Recent efforts by companies to minimize IT budgets during the economic downturn quickly became part of the “new normal.” To avoid further arbitrary cuts and preserve the IT department’s ability to support the business, executives must meet a new challenge – demonstrate the value delivered by every dollar spent on IT.

For most companies, IT is one of the largest single line-items in the budget. Comparatively few companies can articulate what value they receive in return for that spending year over year. So, it comes as no surprise that when times get tough the IT budget is the first to go under the microscope. Even as companies emerge from the economic downturn, they continue to challenge the value realized from annual IT spending.

The IT value challenge is clear – create value or lose all but the minimal funding required to sustain critical applications, architecture and services

This site has been developed to provide insights and ideas and practical, actionable approaches executives can use to meet the IT Value Challenge and enhance the returns their companies receive on their annual IT spending.
